Daniel Navarro Cruz was born in Seville in 1966. From childhood he feels interested in the world of flamenco and his great love, the guitar.
He soon started taking guitar lessons and through his brother, Jose Joaquin, the dancer, Daniel begins to rub elbows with all the good guitar accompaniment and he could soon learn enough to begin joining other guitar talents of his brother’s show. He acquired during that time an extraordinary knowledge in playing for dancing.
The maestro Manolo Sanlucar teaches him a quintessential technique and learns to feel, love and pamper his instrument differently.
His first major recognition is the National Award for Young Artists of Flamenco Guitar in the cycle of the Biennial of Flamenco Art in Seville. In the same year he gets the first prize awarded by the National Chair of Flamenco in Jerez de la Frontera a
nd the prize in the National Festival del Cante de las Minas in La Unión (Murcia). Then he gets the Giraldillo del Toque in the Biennial of Flamenco Art in Seville, having already obtained all the major awards of the flamenco guitar in Spain.
Starting to combine his concerts with the accompaniment of the leading figures of flamenco singing and dancing, he is required for broadcasters in the country and also begins to record his first studio albums.
In recent days, he combines recording with the record production of significant figures in flamenco, among others there has to be highlighted his work as author and producer of the album Cold Steel Aurora Vargas.
The rich and extensive career of guitarists currently makes him the first line of flamenco guitar, both in composition and in the concert guitar and accompaniment.
