Radio Macandé (“Los Macandé” since 2011) is a duo from Cadiz formed initially by John Medina (Juanillo) and Juan Luis Mendoza (Pipi), both from “La Linea de la Concepcion”.
After several years playing together, giving many concerts in Andalusia, they debuted with an album in 2002 with a work called "Radio Macandé". Two years after launching "Mi NIña Morena", which marks an evolution in the band's sound, thanks, among other things, to the production of Ludovico Vagnone.
Shortly after John left the formation to pursue his solo career as Johnny Makande, is replaced by the composer and vocalist Raul Rubiales (Raule) from Jerez de la Frontera.
In July 2007 the third album of Radio Macandé “Buena Onda" is released in which their style is still evolving. From the strongest rhythms from their beginnings to the Italian pop of their second work. This time retaining their pop style but more linked to the south and his land, Cadiz.
In 2009, Radio Macandé returns with "Soy Callejero", 14 Andalusians Flamenco-Pop songs composed by the duo. It includes the collaboration of Alex Ortiz in "Luna De Mil Colores". The first single is "La Lola". "Me Llaman Loco" (2011) being the fifth album of Pipi and Raule in which thye changed their name to “Los Macandé.
